The circuit is a nature trail along the water and forests of the Soubestre... With its source near Limendous, north of Pau, the Luy de France crosses the territory for almost 20 km. Bordered by large areas of forest and farmland, it is one of the waterways managed in a way that respects the natural environment. Calm and tranquil in appearance, this watercourse can rise rapidly, spreading over plots of land during heavy rainfall upstream, and fall just as quickly downstream.
Itinerary

  • Step 1 :

    Start: Montagut-Malaussanne recreation area.

  • Step 2 :

    Take the path on the left towards Montagut and walk up to the Lassaruque farm.

  • Step 2 :

    Continue along the tarmac road. Head towards the Montagut village hall and turn right onto the dirt track (keep quiet: this is a pigeon hunting area!).

  • Step 3 :

    Cross the forest, then take the path on the left that runs alongside the woods. Then head back down towards the Campiat farm.

  • Step 4 :

    Follow the path towards Luy de France, then walk up the riverbank (fishing area) for about 1 km.

  • Step 5 :

    When you reach the canal, follow it to the woods and you will come back to the Luy de France river 300 m further on. Continue along the riverbank from the grassy strip to the forest.

  • Step 6 :

    Turn left and head for the picnic area.
