In the morning, follow the old steam streetcar route for a charming hike and treat yourself to a gourmet break with a tasting of Madiran and Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh at the Dol\u00e9ris underground winery. Or take a mountain bike ride to the Bassillon-Vauz\u00e9 and Lembeye lakes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the afternoon, explore the capital of the Vic-Bilh region on a historical trail, a T\u00e8rra Aventura treasure hunt or a horse-drawn carriage ride.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Chemin de la ligne” hiking trail<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This walk from Lembeye takes you back in time. From 1904 to 1931, the Vic-Bilh region was crossed by the steam railroad line, also known as the “streetcar line”, which linked Pau to Lembeye. Along the way, discover several structures (bridges, water downpipes, stone embankments, etc.) that bear witness to this passage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aesthetically pleasing and varied, this route allows you to enjoy the tranquility of the B\u00e9arn countryside, with its fields, hills, forests and architectural heritage, all the way to the lakes of Lembeye\/Corb\u00e8re-Ab\u00e8res and Bassillon-Vauz\u00e9. This itinerary, originally designed for mountain biking, can be shortened for a more family-friendly bike ride. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dol\u00e9ris underground cellar<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This historic site was built by Jacques Am\u00e9d\u00e9e Dol\u00e9ris, an internationally renowned gynecologist and politician, who planted vines and produced a sparkling wine called “Royal B\u00e9arn”. In 1905, he had a 170 m-long underground cellar dug to preserve it. Now owned by the Cave de Crouseilles, the site hosts a sales and tasting area for Madiran and Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh wines and local produce. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
