Step 1 :
From the central square in front of the tourist office, turn right towards Pau/Morlaàs on the D943. A long descent begins the loop with beautiful curves. Once at the bottom, turn right towards Escurès on the D413, then left onto the small road to Lespielle on the D543. At the junction with the D143, turn right towards Lespielle. Continue on the departmental road and after the restaurant ‘Aü Rey’ turn right at the sign for ‘Chai du Château d'Arricau-Bordes’. Cross the plain, then take the long, rough-surfaced climb on the right, passing the magnificent château. At the top of the hill, turn right onto the D13 and drive through Arricau-Borde. Continue on the D13 and after Castillon-de-Lembeye, take the first left, signposted Route de Pau towards a water tower. At the crossroads, turn right onto the D298, then left onto the D139 towards Madiran/Lasserre. Continue straight ahead and you will arrive at Crouseilles.Step 2 :
Hagedet At Crouseilles, continue straight on towards Madiran on the D139, then on the D58. At the junction in Madiran, turn right onto the D48 towards Lascazères/Vidouze/Maubourguet. Turn right towards Hagedet on the D748.Step 3 :
Lembeye Drive through Hagedet and descend to join the D48. Turn right towards Lascazères, and after the castle and church, turn right following signs for Monpezat (D142). The road along the ridge is bumpy and offers beautiful views of the countryside. A descent leads to the Larcis plain and the landscape opens up onto vineyards. Still on the D142, climb to Corbère-Abères and continue the final ascent to the junction with the D13. Turn left towards Lembeye and drive to the centre.
The church of Monpezat (Heritage)Romanesque church dating from the mid-12th century. Romanesque portal heavily eroded. North chapel with 16th-century ribbed vaulting. Beautiful early 17th-century painting depicting Christ on the cross. Prayer bench dating from 1721.
Castel of Arricau-Bordes (Heritage)A private château, picturesque in terms of its location and architecture, which is very common in the 16th century (house with stair tower and watchtower), this château, listed as a Historic Monument, was largely built for a secretary to the King of Navarre.
The cellars of Castel of Crouseilles (Tasting)Located in the heart of the Madiran and Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh AOC regions, the village of Crouseilles is known for its prestigious château and wine cellar. Its vineyard dates back to 1737 when Dombidau de Crouseilles bought a seigneury from the Lord of Sadirac, comprising what is now the Château de Crouseilles vineyard.
