Small gestures for Mother Nature
In Coteaux Béarn Madiran, every escapade becomes a precious memory.
How about making a promise to the land that welcomes you? By adopting a few simple gestures, you can help preserve the beauty, authenticity and richness of our landscapes.
Here are a few easy-to-keep commitments to help you visit differently, with a clear conscience.
Choose activities that have little impact on the environment, such as hiking, cycling, gentle water sports or cultural visits.
You’ll see, it’s very simple!

# 1 – Gentle travel

- I’m forgetting about the car
- I prefer public transport and carpooling
- I take the time to walk, cycle or ride a horse
# 2 – I respect, it’s natural

- I respect natural spaces
- I follow the marked trails so as not to damage the surrounding sites.
- I don’t pick flowers
- I recover my waste
- I don’t leave my garbage or cigarette butts out in the nature, I keep them with me until the next garbage can.
- When picnicking or out and about, I prefer water bottles to bottles and cans, and opt for reusable containers.
# 3 – Water, energy, waste: just what you need
- I pay attention to my energy consumption. This isn’t Versailles! I turn off lights and unused electrical appliances…
- I limit my water consumption. Every drop is precious. I prefer showers to baths, I make sure to turn off the taps…
- I collect and sort my garbage. I don’t forget my good habits.

# 4 – Screens? Not all the time!
# 5 – It grows here, it’s made here, I buy here
I consume products from local agriculture and crafts. I buy local fruit and vegetables in season and in local shops.
# 6 – Eco-responsible activities
Choose activities that have little impact on the environment. Walks, hiking, cycling, water sports, fishing, cultural visits…
There’s something for everyone!
Leisure activities
# 7 – Give a second life to our paper brochures

- Keep them for your next stay (because you’ll definitely be back!).
- Leave them at your accommodation for the following
- Give them to Auntie Jacqueline or Uncle Raymond and tell them about the time…
- You can also return them to our tourist offices.
- And if you really have to throw them away, give them a new life by putting them in the paper recycling bin.
