Artificial lake indeed, but man and nature are well capable of harmony! This loop surprises by its variety of landscapes, atmospheres and worlds. On foot or by bike, you will come across fishermen, windsurfers and nature lovers. The orientation table will allow you to name all the peaks of our dear Pyrenees. Lovers of beautiful photographs, do not forget your cameras!
Itinerary
  • Step 1 :

From the car park, head down the track, leaving the Maison de la Pêche behind, and continue along the right bank. The view of the lake and the Pyrenees is superb. Take the first path up on the left. Enter a wood and take the gravel track down to the lake. Continue along this path, keeping to the edge of the lake. This is a quiet area, designed not to disturb wildlife. The track becomes steeper and crosses the road.
  • Step 2 :

Cross the D69 and walk past the car park. At the edge of a hedge, a path begins which is closed off by a gate. Continue around the small part of the lake on a quiet grassy path labelled a ‘Balade à Roulettes’. Cross the D69 again and take the path that starts after the car park. From this vantage point, the lake will take on new colours. Walk along a magnificent avenue of oak trees. The path climbs and crosses a track.
  • Step 3 :

Turn right and then right again in front of the farm. At a ruined barn, leave the track to the right (dead end). After the ford, go back up and turn right. Pass the playground on your left. Go around the water sports centre to reach a road. Go right along this road until you reach an opening in the hedge. Go down to the dam and follow the track to the bottom of the dam. Cross the footbridges, then go up the other bank towards the ‘Maison de la Pêche’.
