In the commune of Lème, from the steep slopes of the Luy de France to the thoroughbred meadows of the Bosquet stud farm, you will enjoy the calm of the banks of the Luy de France. This trail is also historical: at the beginning of the century, in 1925 and 1936 on the communes of Auriac, Thèze and Lasclaveries, the Prince of Wales and King Alphonse XIII hunted the fox. In the village of Auriac, the meeting place, all the gentry came from Pau, in costume. The nobles of the region were invited: the Marquis of Palaminy, Mr Prince, the Baron of Ariste, Lamontagne and an American Miss Annie Hutton...
Itinerary
  • Step 1 :

At the edge of the D 944 between Thèze and Lème. Take the Mousté path into the woods and down into the Luy de France valley. Once on the tarmac road in the plain, stay on the main road until you reach the fork. At this point, take the path on the right, hidden under the trees and going up the hillside alongside the fern tunnels used as hunting blinds for wood pigeons. The path becomes a track to reach the top of the hill.
  • Step 2 :

Cross the D944 slightly to the right towards the Chemin de Daurat, then turn left before the stud farm that you can see. Continue straight ahead, passing the two intersections on the left, and cross the small bridge over the Lous to go around the copse and reach the tarmac road at La Poudge.
  • Step 3 :

Turn right, then take the first track on the right again to reach the Bosquet stud farm. Just before the buildings, turn left then right to climb back up to the D944 at the starting point.
