Departing from the charming Béarn village of Morlanne, this sporty mountain bike route plunges you into the heart of Béarnese rolling countryside. Between vineyards, forests and plains, ride along Lac d?Arzacq on the route to Santiago de Compostela, through the vineyards of Cabidos and stop off at the bastide town of Arzacq-Arraziguet.

    Built in 1373, this polygonal fortress with its brick keep bears witness to the defensive network put in place by Gaston III of Foix-Béarn, known as Fébus. Enclosure, sentry walk monumental gateway, moat... all bear witness to the military architecture of the 14th century. Discover the new areas open to visitors, including exhibition rooms and the keep. Gardens, panoramic views, picnic facilities. Listed as a Historic Monument.

    The church of Saint Laurent of Morlanne (attested as early as the 10th century). The oldest parts date back to the 13th century, such as the massive bell tower to the west. Rich 18th-century furnishings. Gaston Fébus carried out so-called defensive works in the 14th century. During the Wars of Religion, the building became a temple, before being returned to Catholic worship under Louis XIII.

  • Belluix House (Heritage)

    It dates back to the 15th century and consists of two square floors and an attic served by a circular staircase tower. The building housed a flour mill in the 20th century and currently houses a media library.

    First mentioned in the 11th century, Arzacq stands at the end of a spur, which made it an excellent defensive site. A bastide since the 14th century, it is an extension of the existing village.
