Itinerary
Step 1 :
When you leave the school car park, turn right, walk up the street and then left onto chemin de Prat. Turn left onto the chemin de l'église. On the descent past the cemetery, turn right onto the hidden grassy path. Cross the road and continue along the track opposite. When you reach the track, take the descent.Step 2 :
After crossing the Gabas, turn right onto the track. Follow the track and leave it at a bend to cross the Gabas again on a wooden footbridge. Turn right up the road and, just before the summit, take a stony track on the left. Stay on this track as it enters a very pleasant wood, before running alongside a lane and a stream. When it enters a wood again, go back up to the right, where there is a small waterfall at the corner. Go up into the woods and at the end turn right onto a track.Step 3 :
At the top of the climb, turn right and enjoy a superb view of the Pyrenees. At the next crossroads, turn left up the hill. Stay on the Chemin de Sirpas until you reach the junction with the D42. Cross the main road (water reservoir) and take the path opposite.Step 4 :
Take the first track on the right. Part of this path is shaded and very pleasant! At the end of the lane, turn right onto the chemin de la Carrère. When you reach the route de Garlin, turn left towards the centre of Sedzère.
Don't miss
- Church of Saint Pierre (Heritage)
It was once a dependency of the Order of Malta. It contains some very fine paintings by Constance de Canet, a local painter who came from good society and was considered to be our Georges Sand of the Bearn region. She loved fishing, smoking and dressing up as a man! Church open on Sundays
