Who could imagine such beautiful little paths in Serres-Castet, an industrial and commercial town? Yet this hike will take you along the Serres hillside, from intimate paths to forgotten lanes. At times, the Pyrenees appear in the background, then disappear as you return to the woods and hidden valleys of this little stroll, which will never cease to amaze you.
Itinerary
  • Step 1 :

The walk starts at the car park between Saint Julien Church and the Belvédère Hall (white glass building). Take the road eastwards. There is a slight incline until you reach the junction with the D 706 departmental road. Continue straight ahead towards Morlaàs and Saint Castin. After 20 metres, turn left.
  • Step 2 :

Take the small path downhill between the houses, then the path through the woods. Cross the stream over a culvert. Walk back up through the field along a dirt track until you reach the tarmac road.
  • Step 3 :

Turn right and follow the road for 200 metres.
  • Step 4 :

Turn left and take Chemin du Hiot, then quickly turn left. After a steep climb, enter the field. You will come to a tarmac road, then a larger road, Chemin de Carrère. Turn left and follow this road for 120 metres.
  • Step 5 :

At the crossroads, turn right onto a small road leading downhill. After 30 metres, leave the road and take the dirt track on the right. Walk downhill for 400 metres through the woods. At the end of the track, turn right onto the road. After 20 metres, turn left onto the tarmac track. End of the path. Turn left onto the tarmac road in a residential area. Continue straight ahead between the houses on a tarmac path; do not take the main road. Continue for another 100 metres on this path. Cross the tarmac road and take the passage on the left in the guardrail.
  • Step 6 :

Cross a small footbridge, then walk through the woods and across a field for 700 metres. The path ends near the Belvédère hall. Turn right to return to the car park where you started.
