The circuit, with the church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Cabidos, offers you a beautiful view of the countryside and the vineyards of the Manor of Trubessé (Château de Cabidos)
Before or after your walk, don't hesitate to go to the domain of Cabidos (road to the town hall) and the domain of L'Escudé (behind the church) then let yourself be guided in the world of oenology.
Itinerary
  • Step 1 :

    Departure from Cabidos Church Departure from the Cabidos Church parking lot. The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, open to the public, offers a beautiful view of the vineyards and countryside. Walk down to the town hall and turn right. A little further on, take the dirt road on the right, at the bottom of the descent in the curve.
  • Step 2 :

    Continue along the path and then descend through the Cabidos forest area, which extends to a stream. Go back up the path on the left.
  • Step 3 :

    Turn right for a breathtaking view of the countryside. Turn back and head towards the hamlet of Couloumère in the municipality of Malaussanne. There, from the road on your right, you will discover all the expertise of our ancestors (17th-century farm).
  • Step 4 :

    Follow the signs to the place called ‘Gnan’ (Délices du Luy de France).
  • Step 5 :

    Fancy a break? Treat yourself to some local produce from Délices du Luy de France. You can then enjoy it 200 metres further along the road, at the Malaussanne-Montagut rest area on the banks of the Luy de France (toilets and water available). Return to the Délices du Luy de France farm to resume the trail. Not tired yet? Then take the gravel path on your left, then the dirt track to the next picnic area at Cabidos, on the banks of the Luy de France.
  • Step 6 :

    After the rest area, on the left, prepare for the climb through the forest to Cabidos Town Hall and the church. You're there!

  • The Couloumère farm (built heritage) (Heritage)

    The first floor is made of pebbles and the second floor is half-timbered and filled with brick, while the third floor is filled with cob. A bread oven is built into the left side wall.

    Parish church and its bell tower to the west (the nave, lower part of the apse and stonemasons' marks date from the 12th century)

  • Château de Cabidos (Wine tasting) (Tasting)

    The Château de Cabidos estate is reviving a very old family winemaking tradition. Since 1992, more than 9 hectares have been devoted to vineyards once again: 7.30 hectares of Petit Manseng will produce sweet white wines and dry white wines, 1 hectare of Sauvignon and 0.50 hectares of Chardonnay will produce dry white wines, and finally 0.35 hectares of Syrah will be used to make red wine. The Château de Cabidos is listed in the Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments.

  • Domaine de L'Escudé (Wine tasting) (Tasting)

    Laurent and Murielle are passionate about vines and wine. They began to make plans and look for opportunities to produce a quality wine that would be affordable for all budgets. In 2004, after renting old plots of vines that had not yet been uprooted, they vinified their first vintages of Escudé wine in the old henhouse.

  • Les Délices du Luy de France (Tasting) (Tasting)

    Discover corn production and duck farming. You will learn all about whole corn feeding and the production of preserves. A tasting session will be offered... Products available: foie gras, confits, rillettes, stuffed neck and other specialities.

  • 19th-century funerary stele (minor heritage site) (Rural heritage)

    Stele decorated with a hammer and anvil on the side placed in the church. Rebuilt between 1896 and 1901 and housing six stained-glass windows.
